June 5, 2010
The Dutch Ambassador Karel van Kesteren and the Mayor of Sofia
Yordanka Fandukova opened the Sofia Design Week 2010. The official
launch of the second edition of the festival took place yesterday
in the yard of the National Academy of Art and hundreds of guests
joined the event.
As in 2009, numerous Dutch designers and studios are joining the
Sofia Design Week. Lectures, exhibitions, presentations, debates
and workshops will present the achievements and the new trends in
the field and will search for the answer of the question “More or
less design?”. The citizens and visitors of Sofia will be able to
meet some of the most avant-garde names in the contemporary
communication, interactive and graphic design.
A week ago, the Deputy Ambassador Martijn Elgersma opened the key
exhibition within the festival. The “More or Less” exposition
gathers the works of five authors, two of which are Dutch – Helmut
Smits and KesselsKramer.
The event will continue till June 11. More information on the Dutch
participation at the Sofia Design Week 2010 is available here. The
full program of the festival and information on the participants
