The Ambassador of the Netherlands Karel van Kesteren will give a lecture at the SOFIMUN 2010 conference. The lecture will take place on July 28, from 14.00 hrs, at the National Palace of Culture and the topic will be the "Sustainability and the challenges of poverty eradication". The Dutch Ambassador will be one of the key speakers in the “Commission on Sustainable Development of the United Nations Organization” as an expert with rich experience on United Nations.
The SOFIMUN Conference (Sofia International Model United Nations) takes place between July 24 and July 31, 2010, and for the third time provides talented students with the opportunity to take roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate and develop solutions.
The conference is a simulation of the United Nations and is aimed at education of the participants about the civil society, effective communication and multilateral diplomacy. More than 150 Model United Nations conferences are held annually in the biggest cities of Europe, Asia, North and South America.
